A federal judge in New York has approved the first drug to help men who had sex with women for less than $100 a day.
The FDA said on Tuesday that it's considering another version of Viagra, known chemically as sildenafil citrate.
"The first drug to treat erectile dysfunction is approved by the FDA," said U. S. District Judge Michael D. Kocin, who has jurisdiction over the case.
In 1999, the FDA approved the first drug to treat erectile dysfunction, sildenafil citrate.
That drug has been marketed as a treatment for erectile dysfunction since 1998.
The drug works by increasing blood flow to the penis.
But the FDA said it wasn't ruling out the approval of another drug that could help patients with erectile dysfunction.
Viagra is the only drug that can treat erectile dysfunction for more than a decade.
"The first drug approved to treat erectile dysfunction in the United States, sildenafil citrate (the active ingredient in Viagra), is not approved by the FDA, and it is not FDA approved for use in the United States," said Dr. Steven G. Segal, the company's chief medical officer.
The company, founded by Bob Dole, who also worked on the erectile dysfunction drug, is looking to start a generic version of the drug next year.
Viagra, sold as sildenafil citrate as a pill, has been on the market since 1998.
"It's probably safe, but not effective enough to be a first-line treatment," said Edward J. Laing, a urologist and former president of the American Urological Association.
The drug has been used to treat erectile dysfunction for more than 10 years, and has become the first treatment to help men with erectile dysfunction.
Efficacy of the drug varies among individuals and treatment methods.
One clinical study found that men who took sildenafil for about 10 years had an average of 15 percent more erections when compared to men who took a placebo.
But men who took the drug didn't achieve an erection for more than 10 hours or more than four times that, according to the study.
For some men, the erections lasted longer or were harder than they were before they began taking the drug, said Dr. Segal, the co-inventor of Viagra and the father of the drug.
His study, published in the International Journal of Urology, compared the effectiveness of two different doses of the drug at different times.
The results suggested that sildenafil citrate had a greater effect on men who had sex with women and on men who had had sex for less than $100 a day.
Sildenafil citrate has been available in the U. since 1998.

A new drug to treat impotence, Viagra, was recently approved in the U. S. for the treatment of a new blood test for Alzheimer’s disease, according to a new study.
Researchers from Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital examined the safety and effectiveness of the drug, a blood test for Alzheimer’s, in a small group of older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
The study was conducted by researchers at Harvard and the University of Washington.
The drug was given in two doses, one every 24 hours and one every 30 days, the study reported.
The researchers found that the blood test for Alzheimer’s disease was positive for both types of Alzheimer’s, the first study to determine the drug’s effects on the elderly population.
“This study provides a new approach to Alzheimer’s diagnosis and treatment, potentially extending the treatment window for older adults with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease,” said Dr. David K. R. Schmitt, a urologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “This new approach offers new hope for those with dementia.”
The new drug, called E-CAMersil, was originally developed for the treatment of Alzheimer’s in patients with dementia, Schmitt said in an interview.
Schmitt said he had no reason to believe that the drug would cause dementia, and he was not surprised by the findings, which led to the FDA approval of the drug in August.
The drug was approved for use in older adults with Alzheimer’s, Schmitt said. The FDA approved the drug in 1998.
Schmitt said the FDA has already approved drugs for the treatment of other conditions, such as Alzheimer’s. He said the FDA has also approved several new drugs in the U. S., including an antifolate for use in people who have high blood sugar.
